Hidden gem near Shibuya. Cafes in Shibuya can get very crowded and busy, especially on weekends, but this new spot is a bit away from the center and wasn't busy at all on a weekend afternoon. Lots of food and drink options, although no plain black tea available.
A large and spacious cafe near Harajuku station. Surprisingly not very crowded considering the area, but I guess the vibe is a bit "corporate-y" so it's probably not the most popular cafe for tourists. In any case, it's a great spot to sit and get some done. Fast wifi, and especially the counter seats are great if you need power.
A good cafe if you're looking to work/study and also have some lunch. The atmosphere feels very relaxing and homey with soft music playing in the background. There's a good choice of both drinks and food. I tried the Japanese curry rice, which was really tasty. The cafe is small and it filled up in the afternoon, so it's good to arrive early!
A café in the lobby of the Downtown Camper hotel. It has a dedicated co-working space with a big table at bar height as well as a few smaller tables and a sofa. The WiFi is decent, drinks are cheap considering the location and the staff is friendly. The co-working space is technically separate from the café which has a no-laptop policy and the café plays some quiet music. They technically close at 17 but they invited everyone to go to the hotel lobby which has additional tables and power outlets available.
A large spacious cafe (also art space / rental venue) with several large work tables, counter seats, and sofa area. Large windows with good natural lighting. Good food and decent drink selection. Fast WiFi, but not very many tables have power outlets unfortunately. Pretty empty and quiet on a weekday so definitely a nice place to sit and get some work done at.
A great cafe if you're looking for a place to have a proper brunch while also getting some work done. The interior feels modern and open with large windows all around letting in natural light. Two tables near the back wall have power outlets. The WiFi was a little slow, but it worked. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
A great new Starbucks branch by Houshanpi MRT station. There are two floors, with the second featuring plenty of comfortable seating, a large work table, and even an outdoor balcony. The balcony unfortunately seems to be closed during the winter months though. The second floor is usually very quiet with most people working or studying. Weekdays, especially mornings, aren't too busy. Lots of power outlets and solid WiFi.
