A great work-friendly cafe by Taipei City Hall station. The first floor looks unassuming, but head downstairs and you'll find a very large space with many different seating areas, including sofas, small tables and large tables. Good for both individuals and large groups. Despite being underground the space is well-lit and has a good vibe. It can get a little noisy though when it gets busy. The menu has a little of everything, with good drinks and both desserts and proper meals. Decent WiFi, lots of power outlets, and very attentive staff. Be aware of the minimum spend rules. From 7:30-11 there is a minimum spend of one meal or drink per person. From 11-20 there is a minimum spend of 200. 10% service charge as well.
The free basement area is quite nice with some decent seating options. It was pretty much empty when we arrived. Really fast wifi. Be sure to check the event calendar though as the space might be booked.
A very nice outdoor terrace on the 7th floor. There are lots of restaurants inside, and lots of seating outside. Seems like a nice place to hang out with friends and get some food and drinks. It was quite peaceful. If you want to sit and work then make sure you bring a wifi hotspot.
The outdoor seating area is great for outdoor working when the weather is nice. Other than that this place is just ok. The main drawbacks being the very slow wifi and no power outlets. The high tables are good for standing working, but uncomfortable to sit at.
Take the escalator up outside metro exit 2. The space is quite large, but can get very crowded, especially in the afternoon/evening and on weekends. There are no restrooms inside the Starbucks so you'll have to use the public restrooms available in the department store or by the MRT, which is quite a big inconvenience. The seats furthest in overlooking the big intersection have a nice view.
A fantastic cafe when the weather is nice, since they open the large doors. The WiFi is a little slow, and there aren't very many power outlets. The seats are also not the most comfortable. But the vibe does kind of make up for the drawbacks. Also, they probably have the most stylish restroom cafe in Taipei, which features a tree! Not to be confused with the boven library downstairs (paid access only).
A large modern cafe with lots of seating space. The front area is open and airy, with plenty of natural light. Further inside there are small tables, and two large worktables as well. A large selection of food and drink, good WiFi, and plenty of power outlets makes this a great spot to work from. The sandwiches are worth trying, but the portion was perhaps slightly too small. The chairs aren't the most comfortable and it got a little noisy in the afternoon. Great service and friendly staff.
A great workable cafe near Nanjing Fuxing station. The interior is quite unique, with large glass walls and filled with bookshelves. The counter seats and the large work table on the second floor are great for working. Lots of power outlets, comfortable seats, and fast WiFi. The drinks selection is good, and there are some decent food options as well, but a little pricey. The menu has 2 prices for each item. Scan the QR code with Line at the counter and show it when you pay to get the cheapest price.
The 3rd and 4th floors are dedicated study spaces with a flat entry fee (NT$150 on weekdays, NT$250 on weekends) and no time limit. This includes unlimited coffee, though food can only be ordered and consumed on the 1st and 2nd floors.
