A quiet cafe near Yongchun station. The interior feels intimate and personal, and the owners seem to put a lot of care into drink selection and menu design (which is available in both English and Chinese). There are several small tables, one larger table, and counter seats facing the window. There are power outlets everywhere (great for study and work), and the WiFi is good. The only "drawback" is that I spend too much time looking at the cute cats!
A great place to work near Dazhi north of the Keelung River. The cafe feels very modern with a clean and minimal interior. The second floor is called the "coworking space" and has more seating and large worktables. Both floors are suitable for working and there is no extra fee to use the coworking space (minimum order 1 drink). The first floor was quite busy, even in the morning, but there were plenty of seats available upstairs. Both floors have very comfortable chairs, lots of power outlets, and fast WiFi. Good drink selection and some light food and snacks are available as well.
This is a modern public library attached with a cafe on the ground floor. There are plenty of seats that you don't have to book (although it was hard to find a vacancy on a Sunday), but also a room with reservable seats and group study desks. The library has a few terrace seats as well. The WiFi is easy to connect and 180Mbps download even with almost 100% capacity. Most of the study desks are meant for quiet work only, but if you take the terrace seat or make use of the phone booth, you could technically take meetings. Though, the phone booth doesn't come with any desks so perhaps it might be bit difficult to have any work related meetings.
A great work cafe in Keelung, close to the night market. From the outside this cafe looks very small, but if you take the slightly precarious stairs up to the second floor you'll find a nice seating area with thoughtful decorations. There's a large worktable and counter seats, great WiFi, plenty of power outlets, and comfortable seats. The space is comfortable, but can be a little noisy if the windows are open since you'll hear scooters driving by outside. There is a 2 hour if it's busy, but on a weekday this was not an issue.
The order system is quite interesting here! After you place your order downstairs the staff will hand you a buzzer, and they will send your order up to the second floor using the food elevator. When your buzzer beeps, open the elevator door, take out your order, place the buzzer inside the elevator, close the door, and then press the elevator button once.
This pay-to-use space offers an interesting concept for remote workers and digital nomads. It is a combination of both a cafe and a coworking space, offering two different types of plans, depending on what you need (more on that later). With plenty of seating choices, a large menu for both food and drink, fast wifi, and power outlets, it pretty much has everything you'd need. Another bonus worth mentioning is that they allow you to bring your own food!
The space is located on the top floor of the same building as the SkyCo coworking space (16F). It's quite large, but not huge, so you might want to arrive early to grab one of the popular counter seats facing the windows. There are also standing tables and plenty of small tables. The menu selection is quite impressive, with lots of drinks and food. The panini sandwich and toast were both well made, really tasty, and not too expensive either.
As for payment, you can choose between two different plans, depending on what you prefer:
Worker Plan:
- Unlimited "basic" drinks (free of charge)
- Unlimited small snacks (free of charge)
- Upgrade a "premium" drink for an additional cost
- First hour: 100 NTD
- Each additional half hour: 50 NTD
- Day pass: 390 NTD
- (Price is capped at 450 without a day pass)
Minimum Order Plan:
- The more you spend, the longer you can stay
- 2 hours: spend 100 NTD
- Unlimited time: spend 250 NTD
So which plan is best? Well, it depends. If you're planning to order a drink and food (sandwich) then the "Minimum Order Plan" is probably best since you will likely spend at least 250 NTD, which lets you stay the whole day. However, if you only want drinks (or plan to bring your own food), then the worker plan is probably best. I would say the concept is quite creative and great for catering to different peoples' needs. However, it does feel a little complicated at first.
This cafe is located in a quiet area and has plenty of seats with a quiet music in the background. There are tables for multiple people, but also there are work station type of desks with plugs on every seats, so you can stay there for a long time. They have focaccia for really cheap price, so you can definitely spend the entire day there. WiFi was fast and stable, which was a plus.
A great cafe/bookstore in Dumbo. When you enter it looks like a shop, but keep going in and you'll find a cafe selling delicious authentic Japanese lunch dishes, and a decent selection of tea and coffee.
The space is a lot bigger than I initially thought. There are lots of different seating areas, but I prefer the large table and counter seats by the entrance, where you get a lot of natural light.
The WiFi is good and there are some power outlets along the walls. The cafe was mostly very quiet, with only a couple of people sitting and reading or working on laptops. Lunch time got a little busy, but mostly people getting takeout lunch.
Overall a fantastic place to sit and get work done. It's definitely the type of place I could sit and work all day, especially since you can get a great lunch as well!
This café in Prague offers a generously spacious environment. The owners are incredibly welcoming, creating a delightful vacation atmosphere. You can also see people living around the neighborhood come in to grab a coffee while walking their dogs. It's the perfect place to be productive while enjoying your time away.
A massive cafe in Seongsu featuring two floors of indoor seating, a courtyard, a rooftop, and a treehouse! There are many large worktables, suitable for groups. The WiFi is good, and there are power outlets along the walls (although some of the sockets weren't working). There's a large many with food and drink. I tried the pasta which was absolutely fantastic. It looks like they serve wood fired pizza as well. Overall, a fantastic place to spend the day working.
A great workable cafe near Myeongdong. It spans three floors, offering lots of seating. Great WiFi and there are power outlets at some seats. The desserts were definitely a highlight here. The cheesecake was one of the best I've had. On a Friday afternoon it was very quiet.
