A small cafe near Dongmen station that opens very early on weekdays (7:30). There's a very small seating area on the first floor, and more seats available upstairs. The 2F interior is quite generic though (nothing special), the seats are not very comfortable, there's a refrigerator that makes a lot of noise, and there is no restroom as far as I could tell. At least there is WiFi, plenty of power outlets, decent (cheap) drink selection, and it's clean.
There are two YABOO cafes near Yongkang St. This is the second one and the vibe is quite different from the first. The interior is brighter and more relaxing, good for study or work. It was very quiet on a weekday afternoon, with only a couple of people in the cafe. Comfortable chairs, decent WiFi, and some power outlets.
Note that the back room WiFi and cell reception is very poor, so don't sit there if you need internet.
There are many cafes near Yongkang St, and this is another great option. The interior has several different areas, all of which are decorated very thoughtfully. There's even a small covered outdoor seating area. Comfortable seating everywhere (even cushions are provided!). The drinks selection is large, with many good options, and there's some food as well. The beef pie was really quite tasty, but the portion size is a little small. It was very quiet in the morning but got a little busier around lunch time.
A combined tea shop and cafe that feels bright and modern. It's a good place for large groups since there are 3 large worktables (as well as some smaller tables). The WiFi is fast, and most of the tables have access to power outlets, but the chairs are not the most comfortable though. The menu is small, but the selection for both food and drinks is still quite good.
A great place to work near Dazhi north of the Keelung River. The cafe feels very modern with a clean and minimal interior. The second floor is called the "coworking space" and has more seating and large worktables. Both floors are suitable for working and there is no extra fee to use the coworking space (minimum order 1 drink). The first floor was quite busy, even in the morning, but there were plenty of seats available upstairs. Both floors have very comfortable chairs, lots of power outlets, and fast WiFi. Good drink selection and some light food and snacks are available as well.
A cozy cafe with nice interior. Quiet in the morning and around lunch on a weekday, but it got quite busy/noisy later during the afternoon between 2pm and 4pm. The WiFi was very fast at first but got quite slow as it filled up. There are lots of power outlets in the first room. The outdoor seats also have a power outlet. However, the second room is lacking power along the right wall seats. The menu is pretty small but has a decent selection of coffee, tea, and non-caffeine drinks. Some food is served, but mostly cakes. There's a 2 hour time limit on weekends.
There are several Dreamers Coffee locations in Taipei, but this one near Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall is my favorite. They open at 7 every day, so it's a great place to work in the mornings, especially since it usually gets very busy after lunch. Good natural light thanks to the large windows all around. The large worktable (with power outlets) is great to work from. There are also power outlets by all the smaller tables. The WiFi works for basic browsing, but it's not super fast. Cheap drinks, but tea selection is slightly lacking in my opinion.
A small coffee shop with plenty of seating options and lots of natural light. It's not really the type of place I'd stay at for a longer period of time, especially since the seats are hard and there are no power outlets. But it has cheap drinks, friendly staff, and good WiFi, so it's definitely a decent option for a short work session if you're in the area.
A very cozy and trendy cafe near Chiang Kai-Shek memorial hall. They open early (7:30) so it's a great spot to get an early start to your day. There's an extensive selection of drinks and desserts. If you're a group then you'll want to arrive early to get the large worktable. For solo-working I like the counter-style seats along the wall, although the table space might be a little small if you have a larger laptop. There's power but you may need to unplug a lamp. The cafe usually gets quite busy, and the staff may impose a 3 hour time limit.
A small cafe located a little bit of a walk away from Houshanpi station. It's quiet and comfortable. There are a couple of small tables and window seats, both options suitable for working. The WiFi is decent, there are power outlets, and reasonably priced drinks and snacks are available. I've tried the oolong tea and the breakfast plate, both were tasty.
