I found this cafe while waiting for my laundry to finish at the laundromat just next door (useful if you're visiting Vancouver and have some laundry to do!). Surprisingly the cafe turned out to be quite good for working. There's wifi (albeit a little slow), plenty of power outlets, comfortable seating, and a large menu for both food and drinks. Even though it was fairly busy, it was still quiet, with most people working on their laptops or just relaxing and watching youtube on their phones.
If you're looking for a relaxing place with nice views in Maokong then this is a great choice, just a short 10 minute walk from the Gondola. The views are fantastic on a nice day. There is WiFi, although it was very slow. No power outlets, and restroom facilities are quite basic. The drinks menu was a little disappointing, the tea choices weren't particularly interesting, which is ironic since Maokong is famous for great tea. Tip: be sure to bring some mosquito/bug spray!
A very nice and comfortable cafe to work from. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, great cakes, and good drink selection. It wasn't very busy just around lunch, but it filled up later in the afternoon (presumably a popular cafe with students).
An interesting cafe, which is very workable. The interior somehow reminds me of a classroom, but it was comfortable to work from. Very fast outlets and lots of power outlets. The main thing to be aware of is that the owner's attitude wasn't very welcoming or accommodating. He didn't seem to happy about people changing seats or ordering before everyone arrives. Something to keep in mind if you visit.
Tucked away on the 2nd floor of this art supply shop you'll find a perfect cafe for quiet work or study. Not only is the space quiet and comfortable, it's also worth trying the surprisingly tasty beef curry, which is very reasonably priced, including a drink and a small dessert as well.
On a nice day you can also enjoy the outdoor seating on the balcony. I guess the only minor fault I could find was the lack of power outlets (which from what I could tell, all tables don't have access to). Other than that, it's definitely a great place!
Note that the shop opens at 10:30, but the cafe opens at 11:00
