A great new Starbucks branch by Houshanpi MRT station. There are two floors, with the second featuring plenty of comfortable seating, a large work table, and even an outdoor balcony. The balcony unfortunately seems to be closed during the winter months though. The second floor is usually very quiet with most people working or studying. Weekdays, especially mornings, aren't too busy. Lots of power outlets and solid WiFi.
A great cafe/bookstore in Dumbo. When you enter it looks like a shop, but keep going in and you'll find a cafe selling delicious authentic Japanese lunch dishes, and a decent selection of tea and coffee.
The space is a lot bigger than I initially thought. There are lots of different seating areas, but I prefer the large table and counter seats by the entrance, where you get a lot of natural light.
The WiFi is good and there are some power outlets along the walls. The cafe was mostly very quiet, with only a couple of people sitting and reading or working on laptops. Lunch time got a little busy, but mostly people getting takeout lunch.
Overall a fantastic place to sit and get work done. It's definitely the type of place I could sit and work all day, especially since you can get a great lunch as well!
Easily one of my new favorite cafe work spots in NYC. Silver Light Tavern is a bar/restaurant, however, during the day they open their space for a small cafe. The interior looks really cool, featuring dark colors and lots of natural light, giving a very cool vibe.
It wasn't busy on a weekday so we could easily get a large table for ourselves. The booth seating is super comfortable, idle for some laptop work. Every table also has power and the WiFi is very fast. There's a decent selection of pastries, cooked food, tea and coffee. So if you want to stop by for lunch that's an option as well. Also worth mentioning, the staff was very friendly and welcoming!
A small coffee shop right by the river in Williamsburg. It's mostly a takeout place, but there are some nice counter seats with views overlooking lower manhattan and brooklyn bridge. There's coffee, snacks, ice cream, good WiFi, and lots of power outlets. A great spot for getting some work done for a couple of hours on a weekday.
There is a restroom, although it was unavailable during my visit.
I usually don't find Blue Bottle Coffee to be especially comfortable to work from. However, this location has comfortable cushioned seats along the walls by the windows, good enough to sit and work for a couple of hours.
On a weekday morning it was quiet and not very busy, although I imagine it might get busy around lunch time or in the afternoon. There are plenty of power outlets, although the large worktables in the middle don't have any. The WiFi is a little slow, but it works.
(The restroom sink and toilet flush was broken during my visit. Hopefully that was just a temporary issue though...)
Amazing cafe for getting work done. Calm atmosphere, quiet music. Power outlets are everywhere. surprisingly comfortable wood chairs. Second floor is really bright, surrounded by windows with some comfy sofas. There is a big table. Cozy and vast selection of coffee and tea. Friendly owner.
Quite busy during weekdays. The 2nd floor is where you'd want work. Nice window counter seating. There are some standing desks available, and a lot of power outlets in the walls. Internet isn't great since there is many people, try to come with your hotspot.
A fairly large cafe with two floors, lots of seating options, and very comfortable chairs. Good WiFi and plenty of power outlets as well. I really like the second floor since there are two large work tables, great for working. Although the second floor closed early (at 16:00), so I had to move downstairs. I'm not sure why or if that's always the case.
The vibe is quite nice, not too busy on a Friday afternoon, and not very noisy either (especially on the second floor). The menu is very large, with a lot of food options, so it's probably a good place to have a working lunch, although I imagine it might get a little busy during lunch time (I'll have to come back and check some time).
