Probably my favorite cafe in the new NEWoMan department store in Takanawa Gateway City. It's located on the back side of the building (coming from the station) on the first floor, a bit more hidden and away from the main shopping areas.
A free "coworking" space provided by Tokyo city.
Before you visit, make sure you download the app and register an account. When you enter the building take the escalator up to the second floor where you'll find the reception.
Scan your QR code at the entrance gates, and then grab a badge.
There's seating on both the 2nd and 3rd floors. I arrived on a weekday afternoon and it was very crowded. If you want to find a proper seat you should probably arrive early. Apparently it is fairly empty on weekends.
The WiFi is quite cumbersome to connect to. You have to download the TOKYO FREE Wi-Fi profile in order to connect to the WiFi. Instructions are available here: https://wi-fi.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/en/
The clip on your badge can be exchanged for a free coffee from the coffee machine. You can bring your own drinks instead if you prefer.
A new cafe that recently opened in Zhongxing New Villeage in Nantou. It's small, but feels very cozy and nicely designed. There are a couple of tables available, suitable for work. Power outlets at every seat, but no WiFi unfortunately. Nice coffee, tea, and the scones look tasty! It's a little pricey for the area, but I like the vibe!
A brunch spot with terrace for couples and singles. WiFi might be slow at some parts of the restaurant.

網路ㄧ開始很快但當人開始聚集速度可能就不太理想了。進門的第一個空間有很多插座，甚至戶外座位也有一些，第二個空間的右手邊牆面則無。菜單很簡潔，但備有滿好的飲料選擇，有提供一些蛋糕等輕食。
週末限時兩小時。
A very nice outdoor terrace on the 7th floor. There are lots of restaurants inside, and lots of seating outside. Seems like a nice place to hang out with friends and get some food and drinks. It was quite peaceful. If you want to sit and work then make sure you bring a wifi hotspot.
There's a small cafe at the Impact Hub building. The cafe is open to the public and you don't need a membership. It's a nice, quiet spot to work, but the guest WiFi is extremely slow and the power outlets are blocked. The cafe serves drinks and some small food/snacks. Food is only available between 11:30 and 14:00.
Not the most workable spot, but if you're looking for a quiet space not too far from Shibuya, then the 2nd floor here is definitely a good find. Even on a weekend I was the only one here.
