A great spot near Yoyogi where it feels like you're sitting outside thanks to the large open doors. I think it's a popular tourist spot since it's near the North entrance to Meiji-jingu shrine. Nonetheless it's a solid work spot. There are few outlets though, and the wifi wasn't working when I arrived (I asked the staff and I think they rebooted the router, which fixed the problem).
A very compact cafe in Ebisu. There are some seats inside, and also a couple of tables outside. It seems like a place where most people get take out, but it is definitely workable, with fast WiFi and power outlets.
A very quirky place hidden in the back alleys of Ebisu. It seems to be a combination of cafe, bar, and restaurant. The interior is full of plants and trees. There's one room on the first floor with several tables, and another bigger space on the second floor. Drinks felt quite basic, but the cakes were really good. A bit pricey.
This public library is one of the Shibuya ward libraries that is closest from the station. Yet, the space is quite limited, you can't take calls unless you go downstairs and book a phone booth for 150 yen per 15 minutes, and you have to sign up (it's just writing your name to a sheet) to use one of the plug seats. They also make you choose how long you plan to use it. It doesn't give you much work vibe to be completely honest.
When the weather is nice in Amsterdam, this is an awesome place to sit and get some work done. The cafe/restaurant is located inside the Eye film museum, but is accessible to everyone even if you aren't planning to visit the museum.
The views are great and the space is definitely workable (there's wifi and power outlets). It can get busy during lunch time and weekends. Some of the higher up tables are reserved for dinner guests after 5pm, but I believe the bottom area and the very top back area are always available. There's a small selection of lunch options, so you can get some food as well.
The easiest way to get there is to catch the free ferry (F3) just outside the central station. It's just a short ride and the ferry leaves every couple of minutes!
Update: My second visit (2026) the WiFi seems to have a lot of issues. Both the "coandco" and "USEN Free WiFi" networks were really slow and unstable. Be sure to have a hotspot.
Probably the best spot in Sapporo to work. The place is huge with a lot of seating, good wifi, and plenty of power outlets. The menu is ok, unfortunately no tea available. Just keep in mind that there is a 3 hour time limit per drink.
A fantastic cafe when the weather is nice, since they open the large doors. The WiFi is a little slow, and there aren't very many power outlets. The seats are also not the most comfortable. But the vibe does kind of make up for the drawbacks. Also, they probably have the most stylish restroom cafe in Taipei, which features a tree! Not to be confused with the boven library downstairs (paid access only).
