I always struggle to find workable cafes in Shinjuku. This is place is quite decent though. Look for the sign for "Sumika" and take the elevator up to the 4th floor. There are plenty of large work tables, power outlets, and fast WiFi. From 4pm they dim the lights and it turns into a cozy bar. You're still allowed to work and use your laptop in the evening. During the day time it feels a little dark and enclosed due to the lack of windows, but not a bad spot to sit and get some work done.
A combined Cinnabon and Seattle's Best Coffee. Located right in front of the 1b exit at Roppongi station. The second floor is large and spacious. Use the "free_seattles" WiFi network, which is very fast (password located by the dish return area). You can definitely smell Cinnabon upstairs, but the smell isn't too overpowering.
One of my favorite spots near Yoyogi station for a quick work session. The interior is small but they have some seats that allow you to use your laptop for up to 90 minutes, which is fair. The coffee is good, and the cakes are really good. Unfortunately no tea available.
A huge cafe spanning four floors with power and wifi. The upper floors have small tables and large worktables. The main downside is the menu is quite small and very expensive, especially if you don't drink/appreciate expensive coffee. I asked if they had any other drinks and they had a "secret" menu with juice (which was also very expensive).
A very small cafe filled with bookshelves. The second floor is workable, but it is very compact/narrow, and the WiFi was not particularly stable. The restroom is hidden behind a bookshelf. Also the background music is quite loud, so you might find that to be a bit distracting. It's a fun spot to check out though.
A small and cozy coffee shop near Ginza station. There are counter style seats and some small tables (really only suitable for 1 person per table). The counter seats have power. Menu selection is quite small. There's coffee, but no regular caffine tea (only herbal or tea latte). The cookies are really good!
A small but cozy spot near Jiyugaoka station. It's located on the 3rd floor of the building with the 7-11. Take the elevator up. The space has a large work table, some small tables, and outdoor seating. Lots of natural light. There's a 2 hour time limit. I don't think there are any power outlets (at least I didn't see any).
