A nice cafe in Meiji Park right next to the National Stadium. Small counter area on the 1st floor, with more seating on the 2nd floor, plus outdoor terrace seating facing the park (dogs welcome on the terrace). Fast WiFi and some outlets available. Busy in the afternoon, and a 90 minute time limit was enforced when I visited. Ok spot if you're in the area, but not the best for working.
A minimalist specialty coffee stand and craft beer bar a few minutes from Gakugei-Daigaku station. Small selection of baked sweets. Cool bare-concrete interior with bench seating along the walls and two tables (the best option for working). I think there's WiFi, but didn't see a password. Some outlets available.
A branch of Cama cafe near NTU track field. Coffee is decent, you can get some sandwiches alongside. The window is big and let lots of natural sunlight in. It is in front a You-bike station so access is pretty easy despite it being between two stations. AC was bit too cold for me at the back but if you move closer to the entrance, it was very comfortable. Power outlet is available for most of the seats.
Drop in friendly coworking space. They are unstaffed and you just reserve and go in with a QR code. Payment at the exit. Coffee and tea are self service. The drip bags are decent in taste. Some snacks available too. It is quiet and very good to concentrate and work. Also a bookable phone booth is available.
This is a un-staffed, vending machine based, 24h operating "cafe" that is meant for people to get stuff done. As long as you buy an expensive vending machine coffee for like 450 yen, you'll earn the right to stay there as long as you want. It's like a cheap airport lounge. The space is good, the chairs are comfy, lots of people working or studying, and the view out the window looking over the river is better than looking at a busy street. WiFi was decent, potentially an easy go-to especially early in the morning or later in the evenings. They say no food allowed from outside, not sure how they impose that though 🤷♀️
The hotel lobby of Quality Hotel Strawberry Arena features a corner for working/hanging out which is very empty in the mornings. They have a bar in the evenings but it's not open during the day. This means there's no food or drinks available during daytime, however the Mall of Scandinavia is next door and has a lot of options. The WiFi is fast and reliable and there's a few power outlets along the walls.
A small café which seems to be a collaboration with Volvo next door since the café connects directly to their showroom. The coffee was excellent featuring special beans replaced almost daily. The place was completely empty on a Monday morning despite the very central location. There is a guest WiFi provided by Volvo however it required signup so I opted not to use it. They don't really have anything to eat apart from a cake so you will need to head out for lunch.
A Krispy Kreme on the ground floor of the Shibuya Cine Tower on Dogenzaka. The usual donut and coffee menu, and surprisingly fast WiFi with decent power availability, making it an easy work stop in central Shibuya. Arrive before 11 and you get a free donut if you order a drink.
A small coffee shop, a couple bar seats, and a large worktable. Very chill vibes. Seats are not the most comfortable or ergonomic.
