A tiny cafe just around the corner from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station. There are just a couple of small tables inside, and the only table available during my visit was a small table tucked into one of the corners. It was fine, but not the best place to sit and try to do some work. In such a small space, it can easily get quite noisy as well, with some people talking and other's chatting on the phone, and people coming and going for take out orders.
I guess working isn't really the point here though. The main highlight here is the cheap drinks and the tasty and Vietnamese banh mi, which makes for a great lunch.
A tiny cafe near Beimen station just across from the Beimen North Gate landmark, and just next door to another popular cafe called MKCR. The inside space only has counter seats along the windows, perfect for getting fresh air on a nice day. There are also a couple of seats outside. The menu is quite big, with coffee, tea, and desserts. Unfortunately there are no restrooms, so I guess this is really only suitable for a short stay.
Minimum order 1 drink, and there is a two hour limit on weekends.
A small cozy cafe in The Hague. Order downstairs and then grab a seat on the second floor. The counter seats have a nice view overlooking the street. Legroom is a little tight though, and it was cold when I first arrived since apparently the heating wasn't on. The staff later turned on the heating. WiFi is available, but very slow. The panini was alright. Lots of coffee available, but no regular black tea. The fresh mint tea was nice though.
Another laptop friendly cafe in downtown Vancouver. This cafe is located inside the atrium of the VSO School of Music, there are plenty of signs so it's easy to find. On a weekend morning is was fairly quiet, mostly people coming in to grab a coffee to go. I imagine it might be busier on a weekday when the school is open. Good wifi, restroom available, but few power outlets.
A new Blue Bottle coffee shop recently opened in Daikanyama, part of the Forest Gate building. It's probably one of the best workable Blue Bottle locations I've found in Tokyo, with large worktables, comfortable seating, and fast WiFi. The only caveat is that there are no power outlets. It was almost empty on a weekday morning, so it's a great place to get some work done early in the day.
A nice, large Verve not too far from Roppongi station. Large outdoor seating area, some seating on the 1st floor, and even more seating on the 2nd floor. I saw some power outlets on the 1st floor (not sure about the 2nd floor). The WiFi "works" but it is quite slow.
