Rustic interior. Fantastic cinnamon buns and nice drinks (black tea was very good). The WiFi is super fast, but lacking power outlets (there is one by the large worktable though).
A very small, but cozy little European-vibe coffee shop between Nakameguro and Yutenji. Nice baked goods and good drinks. I did get access to WiFi after asking the staff. I also found a power outlet at the very end of the bar seating.
A nice cafe/restaurant close to Shibuya and Harajuku. Interesting drinks and a nice variety of cooked food. Their tuna rice dish is really good. Pasta and pizza is also good! Power available by most seats. WiFi speed is fine, but it can be a bit flaky at peak hours. I wouldn’t go here for downloading huge files. There's a smoking section, but during the morning or lunch time I rarely notice smoke smell. Note that there is a time-limit when it's crowded and I guess they won't ask you to leave unless there's a queue to get in.
This cafe is on a small quiet street near Shin-Okubo station. It's calm, quiet and cozy, even on a Sunday. I believe the owner might be from Taiwan, and they serve Taiwanese Oolong tea, which was very nice. There's good WiFi and power outlets. They don't accept cards though, so be sure to have cash or PayPay.
This is an office building but the ground floor is usually open for public. Inside the building, there is a small lobby area where there are seats and plugs under the benches on the wall. Also, if you go outside, there are standing "desks" with power sockets as well. There is a Kanda Square public WiFi which is not the fastest but usually gets the job done. If you need any drinks or food, the building has a Lawson, Summit (supermarket), and Tully's + a few more dine-in restaurants. I see the lounge area in the picture is quite popular and seats are almost full by 10AM.
I think the building itself is open 24 hours but not sure if they allow work in the lobby late at night. I've exited entered the building quite late at night though. Outside plug is definitely open 24/7 🤣 Bathroom is definitely super clean, and there's a smoking room on the ground floor if you need one 🚬
Setter is a co-working space that offers a day pass for 299k IDR / $18 / ¥2800. Obviously, it is not the cheapest but if you're staying and working in Canggu for a bit, it might worth getting a week pass or something to have a place to be at. They have ok coffee from the coffee machine and there is a roof top area that you could also work in, but that is half outside so could get hot and humid. There is a shower so you can be sweatty but get refreshed.
The opening times are a bit confusing. In their Instagram account they have different opening times than in Google Maps. The café is very spacious with two floors and different seat options (couches, taller tables that you can use as standing tables, regular chairs, tall chairs to name a few). The natural lighting entering from the windows is nice. The restrooms were clean. There was unlimited water for free. The temperature was good. The main downside is that the music was quite loud and too repetitive for my taste, I asked to turn it a bit down, they said that it was possible but I didn't feel any difference in the volume. I was one of the first customers for the day but it can get crowded, so not sure about seating availability, although they have many seating spaces. Power outlets were available only at the ground floor for a few tables, this was another downside. The WiFi was working well. The iced cappuccino was average, not too good, not too bad. There were a few bunnies as pets at the ground floor which can be disturbing for some people. You can find the complete menu in their website. You place the order online by scanning a QR code on your table.
A small coffee shop right by the river in Williamsburg. It's mostly a takeout place, but there are some nice counter seats with views overlooking lower manhattan and brooklyn bridge. There's coffee, snacks, ice cream, good WiFi, and lots of power outlets. A great spot for getting some work done for a couple of hours on a weekday.
There is a restroom, although it was unavailable during my visit.
