The lobby area at the Hoxton hotel in Williamsburg is definitely one of my favorite spots in the area. It's usually very quiet, plenty of comfortable seating including large worktables, decent WiFi, some power outlets, and a small cafe area selling snacks and drinks. The opening hours are limited now (due to covid). But you could easily buy a coffee just before the cafe closes and then sit and work during the rest of the afternoon.
A nice "hidden" cafe located on the 3rd floor (you'll need to use the elevator). The natural lighting is great thanks to the big windows all around the cafe. For working, I like the soft chairs by the large worktable, which also have access to power thanks to a power strip. I ordered the ice black tea, and the BLT sandwich was great! Be sure to arrive early, since the opening hours are quite short and it filled up fast on a weekday!
A modern cafe, with fast WiFi and a very large and interesting drink selection. Only some seats have access to the power though. The large worktable did not have any power outlets. Also, the music selection was a little strange, and not really to my liking (electronic ambient music). Note that the food portion size is very small (only suitable as a small snack). Time limit of 3 hours might be enforced during busy times.
Update: The WiFi has become much slower

Rustic interior. Fantastic cinnamon buns and nice drinks (black tea was very good). The WiFi is super fast, but lacking power outlets (there is one by the large worktable though).
A nice cafe/restaurant close to Shibuya and Harajuku. Interesting drinks and a nice variety of cooked food. Their tuna rice dish is really good. Pasta and pizza is also good! Power available by most seats. WiFi speed is fine, but it can be a bit flaky at peak hours. I wouldn’t go here for downloading huge files. There's a smoking section, but during the morning or lunch time I rarely notice smoke smell. Note that there is a time-limit when it's crowded and I guess they won't ask you to leave unless there's a queue to get in.
This cafe is on a small quiet street near Shin-Okubo station. It's calm, quiet and cozy, even on a Sunday. I believe the owner might be from Taiwan, and they serve Taiwanese Oolong tea, which was very nice. There's good WiFi and power outlets. They don't accept cards though, so be sure to have cash or PayPay.
