Update: Large work table now has a 90 minute time-limit (per order)
I recently discovered this new cafe near Gotanda station. Actually, the cafe seems to be a crowdfunded effort after the cafe previously at this location closed during the COVID pandemic. Their concept caters "Remote Workers", specifically those that have trouble joining remote meetings at home.
The cafe features three zones: (1) main indoor area (free) for quiet work, (2) an enclosed indoor area (paid) called the "Online Meeting Space" where you can have calls and join meetings, and (3) an outdoor seating area. I think this concept is quite interesting, although, I didn't see anyone use the meeting space, so I'm not sure how popular it is.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming, there's very fast WiFi, lots of power outlets, comfortable seats, and a decent selection of drinks and some snacks. If you're looking for a quiet comfortable place to get work done, then it's definitely a place worth checking out!
Smålands Café is a concept café owned by AB Småland. The entire café is decorated with AB Småland's furniture and products, and everything around is for sale. This creates a very cozy and calm vibe that represents Scandinavian style. You can get lots of home decorating inspiration while getting your work done!
The café is comprised of two buildings, and in between them, you will see a green house ceiling that invites lots of natural light. The first room of the café provides some charging options, and the Wi-Fi is pretty decent.
Like many cafes in Malmö, Smålands Café serves very tasty Swedish pastries like cinnamon buns. They also offer breakfast and lunch sets. To be fair, I'm going to call it the best café in town.
A great workable cafe near Shinjuku and Shin-Okubo. You'll have no problem finding seats on weekdays, especially during evenings. There's fast WiFi and some power outlets. The acoustics aren't great though, so it can be quite noisy (it's nice to have noise cancelling headphones here).
Hidden gem near Shibuya. Cafes in Shibuya can get very crowded and busy, especially on weekends, but this new spot is a bit away from the center and wasn't busy at all on a weekend afternoon. Lots of food and drink options, although no plain black tea available.
A large and spacious cafe near Harajuku station. Surprisingly not very crowded considering the area, but I guess the vibe is a bit "corporate-y" so it's probably not the most popular cafe for tourists. In any case, it's a great spot to sit and get some done. Fast wifi, and especially the counter seats are great if you need power.
